Description
American. 1860-1880. These types of lamps were made by Boston & Sandwich Glass Co., Sandwich, Massachusetts and other manufacturers. The maker of this lamp is unknown. Glass, brass, marble. White cut to colourless to cranberry with opal swirls pyriform font. Five horizontal rows of oval cuts creating windows to the opal latticino swirling to the interior, stamped brass stem, marble base. #1 early lip chimney, #1 early lip burner. White to colourless cut overlay Oregon shade with a rough-cut and engraved pattern. Burner thumbwheel marked, “E.F.JONES.PATENT.JAN.11.1859”. Chip to fitter lip of chimney. Font similar to Thuro II - pg. 56g. Shade: Thuro II - pg. 65K. From the Keith Dill Collection. 9 ¼”H to top of collar; 16 ¼”H to top of shade.
