Description
Alpine Climbers Mickey Mouse and Pluto Limited Edition Cel of 950 (Walt Disney, 1988). In 1988, Walt Disney Company released a two cel suite to commemorate Mickey's 60th birthday. This is one of the two hand-painted cels for this momentous occasion (look for the matching numbered mate in this same auction). The vaulted Disney Ink and Paint Department hand-painted a 16 field cel of Mickey Mouse and Pluto that was taken from Scene 7 from this 1936 theatrical short directed by David Hand. The full figure Mickey stands 5.25" tall in the scene. At the time of the initial release this 60th Birthday Edition was a complete sellout! . There is a Disney seal on the lower right of the cel.
