"Lalla Rookh" is a long narrative poem written by Thomas Moore, an Irish poet, and first published in 1817. The poem tells the story of a young Persian princess named Lalla Rookh, who is traveling from Delhi to marry a prince in Bukhara. Along the way, she falls in love with the poet Feramorz, who accompanies her on the journey and tells her a series of four tales, each of which is set in a different time and place. The tales are all love stories, and they are interwoven with descriptions of the Persian landscape, culture, and history.
