DESCRIPTION: Three Qing dynasty cast brass padlocks, each in the form of a guardian lion ("foo dog") decorated with circular motifs on its body. Larger lock is marked with a Han character flanked by floral and foliage designs on either side of its body. Includes one key for unlocking two smaller locks; no key for larger. Locks with keys are tested and functional.
CIRCA: 19th to early 20th Century
ORIGIN: China
