Alcatraz Alvin Kreepy Karpis! RARE Alvin Francis "Creepy Karpis" Karpowicz (August 10, 1907 – August 26, 1979), was a lifetime criminal from the age of 10. He brought the name of J. Edgar Hoover to the publics attention by being the last "Public enemy” to be taken and by being the first person that Hoover personally arrested after he became head of the FBI. The Book is a Personally dictated account of Karpis' escapades as Public Enemy Number One and capture by J. Edgar Hoover. Toronto: McClelland and Stewart Limited, 1971. Red cloth with white spine lettering. Book immaculate. Inscribed, "With best wishes from Alvin Karpis" and "Witnessed by Robert Livesey" printed, followed by signature of Robert Livesey. Dust jacket is somewhat soiled and browned and has chip missing at bottom of spine. Comes with a LOA from Guaranteed Forensic Authenticators along with their guarantee.
