An amazing poster-sized photo of the Lunar Module "Spider" signed by astronaut Jim McDivitt. Measuring 20" x 16", n.p., n.d. The image shows "Spider" still attached to the Saturn V during the Apollo 9 mission. Signed in silver felt tip, ''Jim McDivitt/Apollo 9 CDR.'' Near fine, with a bold signature.
James Alton McDivitt (1929-2022) was an American test pilot, United States Air Force (USAF) pilot, aeronautical engineer, and NASA astronaut in the Gemini and Apollo programs. He was selected to join NASA as part of Astronaut Group 2 in 1962, and he commanded the Gemini 4 mission, during which Ed White performed the first U.S. spacewalk. McDivitt later commanded the Apollo 9 flight, which was the first crewed flight test of the Apollo lunar module.
