Description

D&Co., Limoges, France. Vintage antique porcelain shaving mug with a reverse-painted glass label. With the name Edw. Goessling in gold along the crest. The original idea for this type of mug is attributed to Ernest E. Koken. Likely from the 1880s. Marked "D&Co" in green along the underside.
Height: 3 7/8 in x diameter (without handle): 3 7/8 in.

Condition

The mug is in fair vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or losses to the porcelain. There are numerous chips to the glass label, mostly along the edge. Craquelure and minor losses to the painting under the glass. Wear to the footrim.
