Burneta Venosdel (Oklahoma 20th/21st Century)

The bronze sculpture patinated in colors inspired by the soil of Oklahoma is signed in the casting, dated and numbered 6 from an edition of only 13. The figure in native dress carries water in interesting hide vessels.
Burneta Venosdel is a fourth generation Oklahoma rancher who took art classes at Northeastern State College, now known as Northeastern Oklahoma State University, at Tahlequah and received her BFA from the University of Missouri. Her various accomplishments in the arts include work as a teacher to Cherokee and other children, painter and sculptor with work in public installations around her home state.
Measures 19.5 x 7 x 11.25 inches.
