[4], 272 pp. Original cloth with label (scuffed) to spine. ************ Second edition, quite scarce; RBH records the last auction appearance in 1990. Includes Jackson's thoughts on removal of Native Americans, "It gives me pleasure to announce... the removal of the Indians beyond white settlements is approaching to a happy consummation... The consequences of a speedy removal will be important to the United States, to individual states, and to the Indians themselves" (p. 59.) Jackson was one of the more polarizing Presidents in U.S. history. The present works contains his various communications as President.
