Description
Originally owned by Charles Banks, a charter member of the Quogue Nature Preserve. This 3/1 rod has rounded butt and mid sections but the tip is hexagonal with lighter red wraps when compared to the other sections. All nickel silver components exhibit soldered seams and the tip ferrule has had the spike portion removed. Flip-ring guides are present on the tip and mid sections, while the butt has been refinished with a snake guide. There is "ghosting" on the butt section revealing where the original wraps were placed before the refinish. The mortised bamboo & wood reel seat has been over-coated with varnish and the butt cap is engraved: "Charles Banks". The tip is about 5" short at the upper end and has a 1" black thread over-wrap just below the tip top. Accompanying this rod is an old canvas sack (not original, too short) and a bamboo tip tube (minus the brass cap).
