Stefan Kaloudov (Bulgarian, 20th century) - 4 signed, numbered, and dated matted prints of compositions inspired by ancient Greek vase paintings - all are dated 2002 and are printed in black on an orange ground representing the black-figure vase technique. Stefan Kaloudov is a Bulgarian artist who was classically trained in Sofia and works in the US. Interestingly, he is also a first rate conservator of antiquities. His artworks bear a resemblance to those by Sir William Hamilton who was a British ambassador to the Kingdom of Naples during the period of Naples' "Golden Age" and was fascinated by the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, as well as an avid collector of classical antiquities, especially Greek vases.
