Description
VIENNESE ENAMEL AND GILT 0.800 SILVER MINIATURE FOLDING SCREEN CLOCK, Rococo-style form with scroll, floral, and putti decoration, three panels featuring hand-painted enamel outdoor scenes with figures in period clothing, top center with a clock having white enamel dial blue with Roman chapter ring, gilt star accents, and blued steel spade hands. Back impressed with "AH" maker's marks and Austro-Hungarian 0.800 silver hallmarks of a dog's head having "A" city mark for Vienna. Total weight including non-silver components: 6.775 ozt. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 4 3/4" WOA open, 4 5/8" HOA.Â

Condition
Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, spots of loss to gilt, enamel framing clock with a loss mostly obscured by a scroll and a few hairlines, remainder of enameling with a few scattered minor hairlines, back panels with slight bending, clock with hands having some losses to bluing, winder with loss to securing peg and handle currently detached but included. Clock currently not running (see Catalogue Guarantee).Â
