EUGENE SCHOEN (AMERICAN, 1880-1957), ATTRIBUTED,COMMISSIONED OCEAN LINER, with shaped crest rail and arms, original upholstery. Retains an old surface with warm color. Circa 1930. 35" HOA, 17" H seat, 19" D seat.
Catalogue Note: The presently offered set of five chairs were originally a part of the furnishings designed by Eugene Schoen for the revamped modern interior of the SS Leviathan, a luxury ocean liner that was confiscated by the United States during World War I, modernized in the late 1920's, and then put back into service in 1930.
