Description
Guthrie Courvoisier was a successful art gallery owner in San Francisco until World War II interrupted his art business. During the war he gained experience with plastics and transferred this experience to develop these now highly sought “lacquered” pieces that he branded as Couroc – “Cou” was taken from his last name and “roc” for the “hard as rocks” phenolic resin that he developed in the late 1940s to make the products. This 7 ¾” bowl is inlaid with the image of a brown and tan roadrunner with brass accents. The bowl weighs 0.51lb. The bowl is in a good, vintage condition with some wear and scratches. Please see the images as they are part of the description.
