Description
Romano-Egptytian Period (ca. 1st Century AD). Stucco funerary mask, cast hollow-backed face, slightly smaller than life size, hand-modeled hair, neatly frames around face, overall original paint pigments. Dimensions: 8 1/2" H x 7" W. Provenance: Timeline Auctions, 2015 acquired by Dr. Henry Cherrick, a professor and dean at UCLA School of dentistry who pioneered government programs promoting dental care in HIV/AIDs patients. He was an avid collector of fine art and antiquities and died at the age of 84 in 2023. Original documentation included.
