An attractive front opening dragon jacket, Qing dynasty, circa 1840-50, re-tailored later in the 19th century, adorned with dragons and embroidered with many Pekin knot auspicious symbols above a lishui water and wave hem shows a fine quality female dragon robe for a Manchu court lady, the extra clouds embroidered to hide the side closure from shoulder to under left arm, 142cm cuff to cuff x 117cm hem to neck约清1840年 橘红地龙纹女袍
Condition
sleeves and edging not originalsome wear to neck tears to blue lining silk at neck and central seam some stains throughout to robe and sleeves some loose gold thread to dragons claw on reverse and other minor loos threads throughout
