Description
This is a pair of unused tickets from the Cripple Creek and Colorado Springs Railroad, along with a payment voucher from August 1918, payable to the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, for repairs to freight cars. The highlight piece of this lot is a stock certificate from the Cripple Creek Central Railroad Company, dated April 24, 1933, with certificate number C3114, good for five shares of common stock, at $100 per share, issued to Philip L. Morrison. The reverse side has two 2 cent stock transfer document stamps on it. The Cripple Creek Central Railroad Company was actually a holding company for all four of the Cripple Creek area railroads, and despite the F&CC already being abandoned by that time, each railroad still maintained their own identity. The last railroad to leave Cripple Creek was the Midland Terminal in 1948. This certificate is in fine condition, and is the only one we have seen to date! A very rare example!
