French Louis XVI Style Carved Inlaid Walnut Commode, early 20th c., the rectangular top over a bank of three setback drawers flanked by reeded pilasters, on tapered cylindrical legs, H.- 33 1/2 in., W.- 36 1/8 in., D.- 19 in.

There are some dings and surface scratches throughout the piece. Faint water ring and a few additional water spots on top. Top two drawers lined with decorative paper applied with staples. All three drawers show wood shrinkage typical of antique furniture. Second drawer does not sit flush. In the interior of the third drawer there is a crack on bottom as well as a separation of approximately 1/2 in. in back. Wood variation on bottom right side veneer, with addition surface scratches in that area. Right front corner nail and back center nail present, possibly from previous restoration. There is some evidence of old woodworm damage throughout. Key to top drawer lock is present and functional. The key holes of the two bottom drawers are decorative.
