Eastern Mediterranean 5th-4th cent. B.C..Blue, yellow and white glass. H. 9.3 cmSmall, pointed amphora on a button-shaped base. Yellow and white glass threads encircle the vessel spirally. In the upper part of body they are combed into a zigzag pattern. Conically tapering neck. Plate-mouth with inward-folded lip, decorated with a white glass thread. Two loop handles connect the neck and shoulder. Made using the sand core technique. Reassembled from large fragments. A small section of the wall probably with fillings. Rim of mouth slightly worn.Formerly Collection Carl Leonhard Burckhardt (1902-1965). Thence by descent.
