Two German carved wood sculptures by Herr Joseph Frank, mid 20th C., one a woman in a long dress and holding a baby in her arms, 14" h.; the other a male climber in alpine attire, 17" h.; unsigned, wear consistent with age. [Verbal Provenance: Herr Joseph Frank, a woodcarver, walked from his home in Germany to Tsingtao, China. He gifted these to original owner in 1948, he returned to Germany after WWII.]
