DESCRIPTION: Antique United States of America Navy M1850 Officers sword. The sword features a sharkskin and wire wrapped handle, a gilt scrolling half basket hilt presenting open floral and scroll designs, a scabbard with brass bands as well as a chape etched with cord designs, completed by ornate etched scroll designs at the blade with depictions of flags and weapons, completed with a sword knot and tassel.
Etched at the ricasso "Wolf Brown W.B. Germany" alongside a pictorial mark of a wolf, and "Stainless Proved" at the opposite side.
