Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Calima culture, Malagan style, Ca 0 to 100 CE. Important and exceptional terracotta "Sun Mask" in almost perfectly rounded form; small slit eyes with kaolin stripes representing tears, eyes and mouth clearly showing displeasure. A fine and very sensitive representation found in gold metal, but never in pottery form such as represented here! 6-1/2"diameter, custom mounted.
