Chinese, Qing dynasty, 19th century, including two embroidered military rank badges (buzi). The larger one is for a fifth rank military official, worked in couched gold and silver thread depicting a bear on a densely patterned ground. The smaller one is for a seventh rank military official, worked in colorful silk and couched gilt thread depicting a panther amongst clouds, thesun coloured with stitched coral beads.
Size of the badges: 32.4 x 34.2 cm (12 3/4 x 13 1/2 in.) and smaller.
