One of 500 copies printed by William Morris at the Kelmscott Press.
One of the most important books from the Kelmscott Press. Inspired by Morris's purchase in 1890 of a copy of the book printed by Wynkyn de Worde in 1527. The type, Golden, was one of three designed by William Morris and is based on type used by the Venetian printer Nicholas Jenson in the 1470's. The hand made paper was made for Morris by James Batchelor in Kent. With printed instruction slip concerning binding.
