[PHOTOGRAPHS]. A large group of nearly 1,000 tintype portraits. [ca. 1870s-1880s]. Original tintype portraits of babies, children, women (singly and in groups), and men (singly and in groups). Several are tinted in colors, 2 have gilt highlights (jewelry). Some are in the original photography studio’s card display mounts, most are loose. Some general wear due to age, some are faded. Size is generally 3 ½ x 2 ½” and smaller (several are postage stamp-sized). Overall, a superb group of tintypes, all housed in 4 modern three-ring binders.
