Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN / ENGLISH HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC JUGS / PITCHERS, LOT OF TWO, comprising one 5 7/8" H example featuring the De Witt Clinton (Late Governor) Eulogy for the "GRAND ERIE CANAL" in New York to one side and the "UTICA" tribute inscription to reverse, having barge and Erie Canal images in medallions on rim border, and one commemorative example for "HORATIO LORD VISCOUNT / NELSON" featuring an image of Nelson to one side, the HMS "V[I]CTORY" to reverse, and a list of Nelson's titles below the spout. Unmarked. Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, England; and other. First half 19th century. 6 1/2" HOA.
