AMERICAN HISTORICAL COPPER LUSTRE "CORNWALLIS" AND "LA FAYETTE" CERAMIC CREAM JUG / PITCHER, beaded rim with ribbed neck above a globular waist, tapering to a cylindrical foot with medial yellow-ground band, featuring black transfer-printed cartouches of "CORNWALLIS" surrendering at Yorktown, reverse cartouche with a portrait of "LA FAYETTE," held aloft in clouds by angelic women holding a halo formed of laurel leaves amidst the rays in the sky, and fruit design below spout. Unmarked. Probably Staffordshire, England. Circa 1825. 3 7/8" HOA.
