Provenance: Toomey & Co. Auctioneers, Rookwood & Ohio Art Pottery, 10 November 2021, Lot 169 | Acquired from the previous by the present owner

Catalog Note: Flowing Glaze is a derivation of Rookwood's Iris Glaze consisting of rich, opaque color, which tends to blend and flow over the decoration. It is an official Rookwood-named glaze, which seems to have lasted from 1900 until 1901. Of approximately twenty known examples thought to be Flowing Glaze, most are by either Matthew Daly and John Dee Wareham. Given its short life span, it is safe to assume the glaze was not a commercial success.

This work will ship from Chicago, Illinois.

Condition

Overall good condition with fine crazing throughout. One tight hairline at rim, mainly detectable by touch, measuring approximately two inches in length.
