Miao Jacket, China, Early-Mid 20th C. An open front jacket pieced from variety of hand and machine loomed materials; plain, plaid, striped, satin and brocade, with a panel of supplementary weft (inlay). Embroidery in cotton at collar and sleeves. The neck band is worn back, loose and open. Miao People, Southeastern Guizhou Province, Taojiang County, China. Size: 21.5'' x 40.5'', (55 x 103 cm). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
