In very good condition. Aharon Bezalel was born in Herat, Afghanistan in 1926. In 1938 he immigrated to Israel with his family. In the late 1940’s, he began studying art and sculpture at the New Bezalel in Jerusalem as an external student with artists such as Mordechai Ardon and Zeev Ben-Zvi. In 1976 he stayed in New York, USA. During the 50’s of the 20th century, Bezalel created wooden sculptures. Some of these early works were influenced by primitive sculpture and Canaanite art. In the late 60’s he began to cast bronze. Among the themes of his works are symbolic figures and abstract sculpture. Bezalel has placed many works in the public sphere in Israel and the United States. In addition, he created many modular sculptures made in parts.
