Available color options ranged from medium blue, green, escoli gray, China red, orange, and black to metallic brown, silver, orange, gold, and green.The car's exterior featured a slightly higher profile and a larger hood to accommodate the eight-cylinder engine. The engine, derived from the Tipo 33 racing car, was substantially modified to make it more manageable and suitable for road use. The final displacement was 2,593 cc, with a 90-degree crankshaft instead of the typical 180-degree arrangement, redesigned pistons, different camshaft timing, and the addition of SPICA mechanical fuel injection. The engine was paired with a refined 5-speed ZF manual gearbox, which was considered the best available at the time, considering that Alfa Romeo did not have a transmission capable of handling the powerful V8's torque.
