Pope Julius II was born on December 5, 1443 and died on February 21, 1513. He was the 216th Pope of the Catholic Church from 1503 to 1513. He is known as "The Warrior Pope" because of the intense political and military activity of his pontificate. He was a great patron of the arts. He protected among others Michelangelo and Raphael. The construction of St. Peter's Basilica began under his regime. Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel under his orders.
The fountain pen features a luxurious gold-plated design on a cream-coloured background. The cap is designed to symbolise the tiara of the Pontifex Maximus. One of Montblanc's most beautifully crafted pens. The 18-karat gold nib is engraved with the seal of Julius II.
