Attributed to José Benito Ortega, (New Mexican, 1858-1941), executed in the Mora style, the elongated figure depicted pierced through the chest and wearing a blue loincloth, attached to the cross with wooden pegs, repairs/restoration.

Condition
With scuffs, scratches, nicks, losses to gesso and overpaint commensurate with age. Repaired breaks and restoration at the neck, shoulders, hands, hips and ankles. Cross is likely replaced, missing plaque to upper end. One finger missing.
