Description
World War 1 naval uniform with rank and pocket watch belonging to John G. Dunn (1884-1969), the son-in-law of Civil War soldier Edward E. Kelsey. Kelsey’s Civil War effects are offered in the preceding lot.
A Harvard Law graduate, Dunn is also recorded as serving in the navy during World War 1. The uniform offered here consists of his coat and trousers, which survive in superb condition.
The pocket watch was produced by Omega and is 14k yellow gold with a silver dial featuring an intricately chased floral design. The movement and functionality has not been tested.
