Description
Tintype of Hospital Staff
Uncased sixth plate tintype thought to be uniformed members of a Civil War period medical staff. The image presents four anonymous soldiers holding either a folder or rolled documents. Their uniforms vary and appear to be comfortably non-regulation, without any visible branch or rank insignia. Accompanying is a modern copy probably from a book of the same unidentified image with the added caption: "Sixth-plate tintype of four staffers or perhaps patents at the hospital. They seem to be holding commissions or diplomas." Subjects are anonymous and the location is unknown.
Soft in contrast; light hairline abrasions scattered across surface with a deeper scuff at the far right middle ground. Uncased. No mat, glass or retainer.
