Two Japanese woodblock prints, Hiroshige and Hasui
lot includes: 1. Hiroshige's Kinryusan Temple at Asakusa toshi no ichi (late 19th century). Temple was dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon (Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit) and was the most popular venerable Buddhist temple in Edo, here depicted by Hiroshige on a very busy day under a blanket of falling snow; 2. Hasui's 'Tabi miyage dai sanshu, Iwami Arifuku Onsen' (Arifuku Hot Springs in Iwami, from the Souvenirs of Travel series III) signed Hasui, sealed Kawase, no publisher's mark but published by Watanabe Shozaburo, dated Taisho jusannen saku, made in 1924.
