FIRST AMERICAN EDITION of Dinesen’s memoir recounting her 17 years in Kenya, then called British East Africa, which details African colonial life in the last decades of British rule in the region. The 1985 film adaptation starring Robert Redford and Meryl Streep won that year’s Academy Award.
