This is an antique zinc weathervane made by LW Cushing in the third quarter of the 19th century. The equestrian weathervane depicts the horse "Ethan Allen", America's most winning and celebrated Trotter.
From the Upstate New York estate of Marshall and Kay Lee. Marshall was a well known collector of Pre-Columbian pottery and a talented and well-respected book designer in the publishing industry.
54" total height. The finial is 34 1/4" long.
