Extensive English Chamberlain's Worcester Regent China Partial Dinner Service

first quarter 19th century, decorated in the famille rose style, the center panels with ribbon-bound bouquets of peonies and crysanthemums, and the borders with panels of peonies on a diapered ground alternating with ruyi-shaped panels, marked in script, "Chamberlains Regent China Worcester & 155 New Bond Street London", the service including a covered soup tureen, h. 11", dia. 10-3/4", a pair of covered vegetable dishes, h. 7", w. 10-1/2", d. 9-1/2", a covered vegetable dish, h. 8", w. 10", d. 9-1/2", an open vegetable dish, h. 2-1/4", w. 10-1/2", d. 9-1/2", a pair of covered sauce tureens on stands, h. 5-3/4", dia. 6-1/2", a large platter with a strainer insert, w. 16-1/4", l. 21", four platters, w. 9-1/4", l. 12-1/2", a salad bowl, h. 2-3/4", dia. 11-1/4", eight graduated platters, w. 11-1/2" to 16-1/2", l. 14" to 21-1/4", fifty-nine dinner plates, dia. 10", twelve bread-and-butter plates, dia. 2-1/4", and seventeen soup plates, dia. 10".

PLEASE SEE ADDITIONAL IMAGES. Beautiful service in generally good condition consistent with age. Rubbing to gilt primarily around edges/rims with scattered stacking losses to diaper points. Very scattered losses to enameled decoration. Five pieces retain a Jane Marsden Antiques label. SOUP TUREEN: Cover finial restored along with staple restorations. Bowl interior with light tanning. Stand good. PAIR COVERED VEG. DISHES: 1st - Finial rubbed and minor glaze anomalies along the edge of the cover. Bowl interior with a small area of "pooled" glaze with small "dirt". 2nd - Good. COVERED VEG. DISH: Good. OPEN VEG. DISH: General fine craquelure throughout. Top surface with slight darkening, scattered losses to enamels and a 1-7/8" hairline from rim edge. Scattered losses to the foot. PAIR COVERED SAUCE TUREENS: 1st - Cover with restored finial, staple repairs and losses to one side of opening. Bowl with a small hairline at the edge. Rough area of glaze at foot and to the bowl above it. Stand good. 2nd - Cover with two flakes to upper rim edge (1/4" x 1/2" and 1/8" x 1/4"). Loss to both sides of flange at the opening. Bowl with two staple repairs. Stand with faint glaze craquelure. PLATTER W/STRAINER: Platter with 1/2" hairline to foot; otherwise good. FOUR PLATTERS: One with two areas of staple repairs along with tiny adjacent divots at the edge. The others good. SALAD BOWL: Glaze generally tanned with a darker "puddle" on the interior. Flake to edge (3/8" x 1/2") with another ding present. EIGHT GRADUATED PLATTERS: One 21-1/4" - Good. Two 18-1/2" - Both with staples. Two 16-1/2" - Good. Two 14-1/2" - One with old plastic adhered to surfaces; the other one good. One 14-1/4"- Good. BREAD & BUTTER: Four with small flakes, old hairlines and adjacent small losses. One with mottled tanning underneath. SOUPS: Three with a ding or two to the foot. Three with staples. Two with 1/4" rim chips. One with three faint hairlines from the rim (1-1/2" each). DINNER PLATES: Three with staples. Several with small flakes to rim edge along with several old hairlines. Seven with old spider hairlines primarily within the recessed center of foot.
