Description
Walter Addison, New York, 1914-1982. Two mid-century modern hand painted terra cotta serving plates signed Addison. Includes one with scalloped edge and depicts a Star Fish above a stylized fish - measures 11 1/2" diameter x 1 3/4"H - good condition and signed Addison; and the other decorated with a crab surrounded by other sea creatures, signed Addison - measures 16 1/2"L x 13 5/8"W x 2 1/8"H - small firing crack on edge, else good condition. Provenance: Consigned by family. All artwork was found in his cottage in Washington Depot, Connecticut, on the banks of the Shepaug River, where he lived with his wife Rhoda from 1965 until his death in 1982.
