"Village Beside a Stream," attributed to Pieter van Loo (1735-1784, Haarlem) in the manner of Jan van Goyen. Black Chalk and Brown Ink on Paper. Collected in Europe in 1923 by Paul Watkins in Minnesota. Paul Watkins (1865â€â€œ1931) was the second-generation leader of the J.R. Watkins Company and progenitor of its famous door-to-door sales strategy. A very similar, but not identical drawing, can be seen on the website of Decouvert Fine Art Gallery in Maine. That piece is described as being by Pieter Van Loo. Size: 13" x 9" In-house shipping available.
