Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Famille Rose Porcelain Cover Lidded Box. The porcelain box is in a circular form bowl similar, correspondence dome lid finial bud with open carved and there is a tongue at the outer rims for fitting the lid, raised on short round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of abundant lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
