Description
A highly illustrated ink and watercolor map of Chattanooga, Tennessee, dated 1930, hand drawn and colored by Frank Baisden, founder of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga art department. Map includes illustrated cartouches in the upper right register of iconic landmarks of the city, such as Memorial Auditorium, Patten Chapel, Hamilton County Courthouse, and others. The map also includes nostalgic commentary of various areas of the city, such as Cameron Hill, "An Acropolis without a Parthenon", mounted in frame; 28"H 24"W overall
