Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Manabi, Bahia culture, ca. 500 BCE to 500 CE. A set of 3 hand-built pottery figures standing atop delineated legs, each with arms held at their sides and bulbous headdresses. The slit-form eyes and mouths create a pensive visage on each effigy. Size of largest: 1.5" L x 2.7" W x 5.5" H (3.8 cm x 6.9 cm x 14 cm)
Provenance: ex-collection of the late Peter Arnovick, San Francisco, California, USA, acquired before 1995

Condition
Two smaller figures are repaired with restoration; largest figure is intact and very good. All figures with light abrasions and fading to pigment. Nice preservation to overall figural forms.
