Native American, Northwest Coast, Alaska, Inuit, ca. 1930s CE. A lovely cedar totem pole hand-carved with the iconic formline style zoomorphic and anthropomorphic beings. Varnished and painted in hues of yellow, green, red, and black, the pole features, from top to bottom: a thunder bird, a snowy owl, a man holding a child, a man holding a child, and a frog. All is set atop a green-painted wood plinth. Size: 5" W x 16" H (12.7 cm x 40.6 cm)

Wings of thunderbird are removable. Some age-expected nicks and abrasions with a few small puncture holes on verso, but otherwise intact and excellent with nice remaining pigments. IDs of animals inscribed in pencil on verso.
