Leonidas Polk "Fighting Bishop" (1806-1864) CDV & Signed Note, 1862. Polk was a Bishop at the Protestant Episcopal Church before becoming a solider for the Confederacy. Professionally framed and matted with biographical sketch and CDV. The signed note is dated, "Corinth, May 8th, 1862." This note is from the siege of Corinth, Mississippi also known as the First Battle of Corinth, April 29th-May 30th, 1862. Signed area measures approx. 2 1/2" X 2 3/4". Frame measures 11 1/8" X 12 5/8". The Larry Mangus Collection, Corinth, Mississippi. Condition- Overall good condition. The CDV has toning. The note is in good condition. See photos.
