Description
Iron or steel blade marked with a stamped American Shield surrounded by "NY" (this may be the mark of R.H. Alexander who was a New York-based importer of Sheffield-made knives). The wood handle decorated with geometric designs of small brass tacks on both sides in the Native American style. Civil War era - Circa 1860's. The tacks measure 3/16" diameter. A fine old knife.

Blade Length - 10" (25.5 cm)CONDITION : Good condition as shown. Some of the brass tacks are missing. Old worn patina to the wood and metal parts. Wear from use. Blade in good condition.
