Central Europe, Ca 200 to 0 BCE, iron sword that was ritualistically bent into a ribbon of steel. This might have been the sword of a vanquished enemy, or the sword of a fallen comrade to accompany him into the afterlife. Originally about 31"L, now 9-1/2" across x 2"W.

Provenance: Ex-J. Connell Collection, East Coast USA

Authenticity Guaranteed

The starting price is the price at which the item can sell.
Condition
Rusted as expected from 2100 years of burial. Interesting to see how time has separated the iron into two bands that were once hand forged into a single length.
