Václav Hájek was a Czech historian from Libocany, known for being the most prolific Czech chronicler. His famed chronicles focus on Slavic history, the rise and growth of the Czech people in Bohemia. This second volume from the 1763 edition offers the history of Bohemia from the year 644 through 851 which includes the lives of each pope as well as the reign of Charlemagne and the power of the Holy Roman Empire in the Saxon Wars.
