Nine U.S. Political Figures Signatures, 19th Century. (1) Hugh McCulloch (1808-1895) autographed slip. McCulloch was the Comptroller of the Currency under Lincoln and the 27th and 36th United States Secretary of the Treasury under Lincoln and Chester A. Arthur respectively. Autographed slip is dated, "March 10th, 1890," and measures 1 1/2" X 4 1/4". (1) William Pitt Fessenden (1806-1869) autographed slip and engraving. Fessenden was a Senator from Maine, 26th US Secretary of the Treasury under Lincoln, and a Member of the House of Representatives from Maine. Slip measures approx. 1 1/2" X 3 1/2". (1) Senator Justin Smith Morrill (1810-1898) autograph. Smith was a Senator and Representative from Vermont. He is best known for the Morrill Land-Grant Acts, which provided funding for many of the public colleges and universities. Measures approx. 4" X 6 1/2". (1) Governor William Alfred Buckingham (1804-1875) autograph. Buckingham was the 41st Governor and Senator of Connecticut. Measures 2 1/4" X 4 1/2". (1) Governor Joseph Albree Gilmore (1811-1867)
